Xerox Spreads the Word on Digital

Press release from the issuing company

(September 30, 2008) Conference-goers from Boston to New Orleans heard about the power of digital printing in September – thanks to Xerox Corporation.

Beginning with the sponsorship of the Boston Print Buyers Conference, which took place September 10 – 12, Xerox's Bob Wagner, vice president, creative services business and Premier Partners program, moderated a panel with government print buyers including representatives from the Government Printing Office, Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Each panel member shared examples of successful digital printing projects completed through their organizations.

"Similar to the business world, government organizations at both the state and federal level are benefiting from the strengths of digital," said Wagner. "Hearing real life stories of how digital has helped these organizations benefit from variable printing, options for short run quantities, all while achieving optimal image quality, are great testaments to how far digital has come."

Taking the digital message south to New Orleans, Xerox sponsored IDEAlliance's Spectrum360 Conference, the following week from September 17 – 18. Wagner participated in another session at this conference, titled "Red-Hot Digital: Emerging Applications of Digital Printing," where he moderated a discussion between David Drum, vice president, business development, H&H Color Lab; Rick Tatanus, account executive, Tucker Printers/Consolidated Graphics and Cynthia Osborn, worldwide marketing manager, Lytrod Software.

The panel focused on three aspects of digital printing: photo specialty products, short-run and personalized packaging, and security imaging. The session sparked a conversation about how these emerging applications are "red-hot" in the marketplace, helping brand-owners and marketing partners create new opportunities to profit and grow through digital print.

Attendees at both events included members of Xerox's Premier Partners program, a global print network of the world's leading print providers totaling about 750 members from 48 countries.
