Plum Grove Invests in Canon imagePRESS Digital Presses

Press release from the issuing company

Variable data printing allows each printed piece to be personalized in every way, for true one-to-one print marketing.

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Plum Grove Inc. specializes in custom printing and marketing solutions for a range of high-profile brands. The 37-year-old company began as a commercial print shop and expanded to include marketing and mailing services, signs, promotional products and trade show displays. To support increasing sales and volume, Plum Grove recently invested two new Canon digital presses, effectively doubling its printing capabilities.

The firm purchased a new Canon imagePRESS C8000VP color digital press along with a new Canon imagePRESS 1135+ black and white digital press. The Canon color press has high resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi at print speeds of up to 100/80 letter-sized images per minute. It is rated for an average monthly print volume of up to 450,000/360,000 LTR images per month and maximum monthly duty cycles of up to 1.5M/1.2M LTR images. It can handle from a 7.2-in x 7.2-in up to a 13-in x 19.2-in original size document and holds up to 10,000 sheets of paper.

The Canon imagePRESS 1135+ black and white press features a true 1200 x 1200 dpi output and 256 grayscale gradations. It can print up to 8,100 impressions per hour incorporating suction feeding from the 14,000 sheets it can hold. Like the color press, it can also handle printing up to a 13-in x 19.2-in document size.

In addition, the presses offer variable data printing, allowing clients to personalize their print marketing. Each printed piece can be customized with a different name, address, barcode, imagery, or other specialized data integrated seamlessly into the final product. Addressing can be done at the same time direct mail marketing artwork is printed. Marketing pieces can be run with different art backgrounds, lifestyle imagery, maps, phone numbers, directions and more, tailoring the message for different segments of customers.

“Our clients require high-quality printing, fast turnaround times, and personalization capabilities equivalent to those offered in digital marketing campaigns,” Plum Grove Founder Peter Lineal said. “Our new digital presses help us get highly-customized printed products in the hands of our customers faster and at a highly competitive price.”

The new digital presses are part of Plum Grove’s continuing expansion in both volume and services. The company recently leased an additional 3,000 sq. ft. of space to supplement its existing 9,500 square foot facility. It is also continuing to add new services and products to its line, with a future focus on “tra-digital” marketing, or combining digital marketing campaigns with traditional printed solutions.
