CMYK Distributors Announces Installation of Second InkZone System at Wilcox Printing in Madrid, Iowa

Press release from the issuing company

Weymouth, Mass. – CMYK Distributors, Inc. today announces the installation of InkZone Ink-Presets and Closed-Loop technology at Wilcox Printing in Madrid, Iowa. This is CMYK Distributors’ second InkZone installation at Wilcox. Two years ago, CMYK Distributors installed InkZone on Wilcox Printing’s 28” 5-color Komori press, helping the company to significantly cut makeready time, reduce paper waste, and increase the overall efficiency of their pressroom. When Wilcox Printing added a Ryobi press to their pressroom earlier this year, moving ahead with a second InkZone system was an obvious decision.

Wilcox Printing is a third-generation, mid-sized commercial printing company. Their equipment lineup features multiple top-of-the-line offset presses including a 28” 5-color Komori with a Harris and Bruno inline coater, a Ryobi 755 press, an 8-unit Goss community newspaper press, a Canon wide format press, a Canon digital press with booklet maker, a Konica Minolta digital press, a PSI digital envelope press, as well as an automated folder, stitcher, and trimmer, etc. Wilcox Printing is a G7-Qualified commercial printing company.

The InkZone Ink-Presets & Closed Loop solution delivers state-of-the-art ink key presetting and closed loop color control technology for all offset presses for substantially shorter make-ready time, reduced paper waste, and considerably-improved color quality. For Wilcox Printing, the installation of a second InkZone system has already yielded significant returns by enabling their half-size presses to produce an average of 25% more sheets over an eight-hour shift.

“With InkZone, not only have we increased the average output of our half-size presses, but we are already seeing a reduction in makeready time and paper waste of up to fifty percent,” said Ken Williams, Owner and President of Wilcox Printing. “This is critical to our business as we routinely run smaller jobs where the profit margin is too tight for unnecessary waste.”

Williams goes on to state that, “Having the first InkZone system in place on our Komori press has really paid dividends for Wilcox Printing. From the get-go, our pressmen were incredibly receptive to InkZone and were quick to understand and appreciate the benefits of this technology. When we purchased the Ryobi press, it was really a ‘no-brainer’ to move forward with a second InkZone system. With a solid ROI and CMYK Distributor’s outstanding customer support, we couldn’t be more pleased with our decision to install a second system. InkZone is, undoubtedly, the best quality control solution on the market.”
