Sell-Out Crowd Listens to Sales Guru at NAPL Event

Press release from the issuing company

PARAMUS, NJ, May 24, 2001 – A sell-out crowd filled the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL)’s Center for Professional Development recently, drawn by a workshop called "The Art & Science of Printing Sales" led by master motivator and sales guru Sean McArdle. Known throughout the industry as the $100 Million Printing Salesman, McArdle, the President and CEO of LifeAnswers, Inc., has negotiated some of the largest printing contracts in the world. During the two-day workshop, McArdle provided information on how to create new customers, make winning sales calls, build a personal philosophy for winning and avoid mistakes that sabotage potential printing sales. He also explained how to turn any objection into a selling opportunity – and offered additional insights that applied to attendees’ personal lives as well as their professional careers. More than fifty graphic arts salespeople from as far as Barbados and as near as New York attended the program, held April 26th and 27th at the Center for Professional Development, which is located at NAPL’s Paramus, New Jersey headquarters. As one attendee commented, "I came to learn how to sell printing, but I gained much more." Another added: "This is the first sales seminar I’ve taken that was relevant to my line of business – printing. Fabulous instructor!" NAPL’s Center for Professional Development, which is supported by industry sponsors Compass Capital Partners, Heidelberg and Roosevelt Paper Company, is a self-contained, state-of-the-art facility for events ranging in size from five to 90 participants. The Center includes audio/visual equipment, catering services, computer training, a business center and a bookstore, and is available for lease as a fully equipped training and meeting facility for both the graphic arts industry and the business community at large. The facility also features NAPL-sponsored seminars that are specifically designed to enhance graphic arts-related businesses and careers. These include courses and workshops aimed at NAPL’s membership track areas of Executive Management, Sales & Marketing Management, Operations & Technology Management, Human Resources Management and Financial Management. Among upcoming events, a repeat of the popular "Art & Science of Printing Sales" workshop will be offered on August 2nd and 3rd. In addition, Sean McArdle is scheduled to lead a follow-up workshop, "Negotiating and Advanced Selling Skills," on October 18th and 19th. The fall program is recommended for experienced sales personnel, as well as for those who have already attended the "Art & Science" program or have been using the accompanying 20-hour audio-tape series, which is available through NAPL’s Printer’s Preferred Bookstore.
