Lyra Research Reports New Xerox DocuPrint "Outpaces Competitors"

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., -- Xerox Corporation's (NYSE: XRX) newest personal inkjet printer, the Xerox DocuPrint M750, runs laps around competitive machines from Hewlett-Packard, Canon and others, according to recent rigorous testing by a leading industry lab. The kudos come from the Lyra Research/CompuMetric Labs Printer Evaluation Series, which found that the Xerox DocuPrint M750 "outpaces its competitorsäin almost every speed test on both monochrome and color documents." The in-depth technical report also details how the DocuPrint M750 increases output speed without compromising print image quality. "A key plank of Xerox's strategic direction centers on building our brand and demand for Xerox products in the SOHO market," said Jim Miller, president, Xerox SOHO Business Group. "Recognition like this proves Xerox is leading the charge with products, such as the DocuPrint M750, that deliver the best value to customers." Xerox recently announced it is continuing to target the high-growth inkjet market as part of its corporate turnaround strategy. The company is exploring new ways to further expand its participation in the inkjet arena through strategic equity partnerships. Since the August launch of the DocuPrint M750, the first product introduced from Xerox's SOHO Printing Alliance with Fuji Xerox and Sharp Corporation, the inkjet printer has won accolades around the world. Most recently, PC World gave the M750 a No. 3 spot its prestigious "Top Ten" printer list in November. Additional accolades include a "3 out of 5" rating from PC Magazine and "Recommended" ratings from the Dallas Morning News, Smart Business and CNET as well as international publications such as PC Direkt, (Germany), PC World (Italy) and PC World (Norway). Smart Computing editors wrote, "The DocuPrint M750's hot speed and nearly flawless text make it ideal for a budget-conscious office. Its great color performance and frugal ink system top off a sweet package." The DocuPrint M750 has also brought home three awards: an "Editor's Choice" from Computer Easy (Germany); "Top of the Top Ten List" from CHIP Magazine (Germany); and a "Best Buy" from What To Buy For Business (UK). The DocuPrint inkjet speed and quality touted by reviewers results from two advanced features: eXpress ModeÅ which delivers business-quality color output at speeds up to twice as fast as competitors' normal mode; and InkLogicTM technology, which eliminates waste by using separate ink tanks for each color. Additional products in the DocuPrint M Series that use this technology include the DocuPrint M760 inkjet printer and two multifunction devices, the DocuPrint M940 and DocuPrint M950. Priced at $149 and targeted to small businesses and home office users, the DocuPrint M750 is available through major retailers, e-tailers, catalogers, distributors and resellers throughout North America and Europe.
