Karin Schminke to Exhibit Laser-Enhanced Art at Walker Fine Art

Press release from the issuing company

Seattle-based artist will be featured in an upcoming exhibit at Walker Fine Art in Denver. The exhibit is titled The Space Between, which the gallery describes as “exploring the physical manifestation of visual mediation.”??

For this exhibit Schminke worked from original monoprints and drawings that were inspired by life cycles in the natural world. These were then developed in Photoshop and Illustrator and produced in mixed media on either Baltic Birch or aluminum sheets. Schminke built up imagery in layers using both traditional media (acrylics and clay paint) and digital tools like digital printing (Epson 9600), laser etching, and laser cutting (Universal Laser Systems).
