Marconi Data Systems Inc. Announces Release of Excel WebLink

Press release from the issuing company

Wood Dale, IL (USA) - Marconi Data Systems Inc. (MDS) announces the release of the new Excel WebLink -a printer management tool which provides for remote status monitoring of one or more Marconi Data Systems Excel series ink jet printers. The Excel WebLink allows a Videojet Excel printer to be connected to a LAN/WAN, intranet or even the internet and act as a web server. This gives any standard web browser the ability to connect to the printer over a typical Ethernet connection. The Excel WebLink information can be viewed remotely from any web browser worldwide. Users can easily connect to an Excel printer and monitor production volumes using the "Status Page". The Excel WebLink also provides a service page to monitor the printer's internal functions. This allows maintenance personnel to respond before the phone even rings! It also enables Marconi Data Systems' Technical Support personnel to connect to a specific printer anywhere in the world, and assist with troubleshooting that unit. The Excel WebLink is easy to set up and even easier to use. There is no learning curve because it is compatible with software you already know. The option of using the internet as the communications medium for this tool provides a flexible, yet universally open standard for communication between systems.
