Peachtree Packaging & Display Increases Flexographic Printing Capabilities with Gopfert 5 Color Dual Die Cutting Press

Press release from the issuing company

Gopfert 5 Color Dual Die Cutting Press provides Peachtree Packaging & Display customers with best-in-industry print quality and faster speed to market.

Lawrenceville, Ga. – Peachtree Packaging & Display, a brand caretaker that designs and manufacturers custom, semi-permanent/corrugated and permanent point of purchase (POP) and Direct to Consumer Graphic & Experiential Packaging™ solutions that generate brand exposure and drive revenue, has recently increased its capabilities with the acquisition of a Gopfert 5 Color Dual Die Cutting Press. The Gopfert 5 Color Dual Die Cutting Press is best in class in flexographic printing and provides Peachtree Packaging with an additional capacity of 10,000 full-size sheets per hour and the ability to produce more than 180,000,000 additional square-feet per year. With this addition, Peachtree Packaging's combination of equipment is unparalleled in the packaging industry.

Investing in state-of-the-art technology and equipment is a top priority for the new management team of Peachtree Packaging. In October of 2016, Chad Wagner, president & CEO, Andy Auchmuty, owner & vice president, and Ed Davis, owner & vice president, purchased the company from the former management team. The management team’s commitment to investing in new technology provides Peachtree Packaging with a competitive edge as a market leader in design, printing and production.

“As a trusted caretaker of some of the world’s most recognizable brands, we have an obligation to provide our customers with access to the absolute best technology and equipment the industry has to offer. Industry leaders must have industry leading technology,” said Chad Wagner, president and CEO of Peachtree Packaging.

The Gopfert, nicknamed the “Spaceship” among the Peachtree Packaging team for its futuristic appearance, is fully automated for rapid job transfer and can manage projects up to 110-inch printing width. The 2.200 MM (86.61”) board line in combination with the open machine architecture enable operators to set the machine while production is running. As a result, print units are made ready while other projects are still running, making speed to market for customers even faster. The print control camera, vacuum sheet transport, and servo driven technology mean projects are continually adjusted for any deviation, ensuring maximum register accuracy. Register control cameras make immediate corrections. The press can print 100+ line screen, which is far beyond the industry standard of 65.

“The Gopfert not only provides the best printing quality possible, but it also increases our customers’ speed to market. There’s no compromise on speed or quality,” said Pete Galbiati, director of marketing for Peachtree Packaging. “Projects that used to take three weeks can now be completed in one.”

The Gopfert is not the only state-of-the-art technology at Peachtree Packaging. In recent years Peachtree Packaging has also invested in purchasing a 74-inch Post specialty folder/gluer, Hycorr 115-inch rotary die-cutter, and a 118-inch Revicart specialty folder/gluer with multi-feeder.

Peachtree Packaging was founded in November of 1979 and opened for business in a 15,000-square-foot facility run by fewer than 10 employees. Today, the company employs more than 150 employees in over 250,000 square-feet of manufacturing and fulfillment space spread across two facilities at a metro Atlanta campus.
