New Study - California Tops Print Shipments With $7.6 Billion

Press release from the issuing company

According to Trendwatch - Horace Greeley never counted on this! It's easy to think of California simply in terms of Silicon Valley and the myriad "high-tech" industries. But the state of California also leads the country in good old-fashioned printing installations. There are 3,067 installed sheetfed presses in California (that's more than in all of New England). And California also has the most (10,500+) offset duplicators and web presses (525+). California also leads the states in print shipments -- $7.6 billion. Oh yeah, and some say it's one of the worlds' ten largest economies -- larger than most countries. California as a place to live may not be to everyone's taste, but in terms of job markets in both old, new, and even cross media, the Golden State could very well live up to its nickname (again). And think about it this way: although it's increasingly possible to work in new media without having to be in any specific physical location, have you ever tried to run a printing press over the Internet?
