MCT Expands into Mid-Range Cutters with New 1.0 kW Router Offering

Press release from the issuing company

Milwaukee, Wis. – MCT Digital is pleased to announce that it has released for sale a new Mid-Level Flatbed Cutter offering, the VersaTech2 Entry Level System. This system is available in 1.6M X 1.6M, 3.2M and 4.8M cutting areas. It also includes all the industry leading speed and accuracy of a VersaTech2, running at a speed of up to 78 inches per second and 1.25g acceleration. This new router availability, utilizing a 1.0 kW 60,000 rpm air cooled starter router is aimed to match the needs of those who might otherwise look towards a more entry level system than the VersaTech2. By eliminating the need for a chiller and a festoon to handle the liquid cooling needs of the larger routers, MCT can make a significant reduction in costs, allowing it to present an upgradable solution that will not require replacement or retraining within a year or less. Introductory pricing starts at under $110,000. Included in the flatbed system at this price are the most utilized knife and creasing tools, along with a full cutting mat underlayment.

According to Nikolai Mikkelsen, MCT Founder and CTO, “No longer will it be necessary to forego speed or accuracy when making an initial foray into flatbed cutting or be required to add additional cutting capacity in a short period of time."

The VersaTech2 comes either in 1.6M, 2.5M, or 3.2 M flatbed or full conveying versions, including full cutting lengths up to 6.4 m. The system can also be fitted with an extended conveyor to improve offloading capabilities. These systems are also capable of incorporating MCT’s unique laser solution. Through the patent-pending dual conveyor solution, incorporating an aluminized laser belt as well as a traditional mat conveyor, the VersaTech2 is the only system worldwide that can provide full automation with conveying for laser, router, and knife cutting on a single installation.
