SPGPrints Confirms ColorScreen as Sole Distributor for Rotary Screen Label Products for Southern Africa

Press release from the issuing company

Boxmeer, Netherlands – SPGPrints has named ColorScreen as its sole distributor for the southern African region for its rotary screen products, services and support for label printing applications.

With stocks at its facilities in Cape Town and Durban, the company offers the rapid supply of SPGPrints RotaMesh® non-woven, re-engravable nickel screens, and RotaPlate® re-imageable screens. Both screen types deliver high-quality images, durability, and stability when printing at high speeds. ColorScreen also offers a screen imaging service and will be the point of contact for SPGPrints’ machine systems that include printing modules and laser imagers.

Established in 1981, ColorScreen and its full-time staff of nearly two dozen people have broad expertise in the graphics, screen, pad and digital printing markets.

“Since we appointed ColorScreen last year as a dealer, our relationship has grown and flourished,” said Jaap Storm, area sales manager Label Printing, SPGPrints. “This appointment is timely as we are seeing market growth in the region’s labels sector. The importance of high-impact labelling for brand success is increasingly recognised, and to achieve this, many converters are installing new narrow web presses with hybrid process capability, with one or more rotary screen printing units included.”

Rotary screen printing is uniquely capable of printing thick layers of ink at speed and, as a result, can be used inline with flexo, offset, gravure and letterpress to create eye-catching effects such as glossy, matt, and tactile varnishes, vibrant colours, as well as metallic and opaque effects. It is also used for braille dots and anti-counterfeiting solutions.SPGPrints’ Rotary Screen Integration® (RSI®) printing modules allow smooth incorporation of the process into existing label presses. SPGPrints has a close partnership with many of the world’s leading press manufacturers, to install the technology on both new and, through retrofitting programmes, on existing presses.

“The availability of products, and especially consumables, without import delays is a major contribution to the market that ColorScreen’s expanded relationship with SPGPrints offers customers,” Storm concluded.
