Recent Study - Desktop Proofers Top Buy for Creative Professionals

Press release from the issuing company

Desktop color printers and proofers are the #1 investment for creative pros -- a whopping 55% plan to buy one or more. The most popular price range (16% of creative professionals) was $2,500 to $5,000. Six months ago the most popular price range (16%) was $500 to $1,000. Why should you care?... Proofing is moving to the desktop and creative shops are buying the expensive spread to handle this internal money making task. Yep, even for critical color -- and who says color quality is not in the eye of the beholder. Like a buffalo herd, a few years ago the number of Matchprints and Cromalins being produced could blanket several states -- and we're talkin' big states like Montana or Wyoming (not Rhode Island, alas). Will desktop printing technology put Matchprints and Chromlins on the EPM (endangered proofing media) list?
