Press release from the issuing company

Lexington, KY, USA - WhatTheyThink, the first daily portal for the printing and graphic arts community, has just completed a study of 'Printers with Internet Access.' Among other questions, the study asked printers about their web strategy. Over 50% of printers would consider web based collaboration solutions for their firm. Each printer surveyed had internet access on their premises and ranged in size from under $1 million to over $5 million in annual revenue. 58 percent of printers with internet access are open to considering web based collaboration software. 12 percent use web based software now and 10 percent said they have examined such systems and decided against it. 20 percent of the respondents said they will not implement any type of web based software solution. Of printers with under $1 million in revenue, only 6 percent have implemented internet based solutions with 56 percent saying they were open to considering the concept. Of printers with $1 million to $5 million in annual revenue, 14% have implemented web based software solutions and 24 percent say they will not consider the service. Of printers with $5 million plus in annual revenue, 17 percent said they are using web based collaboration software now and 62 percent said they would consider such services. Said Randy Davidson, President of WhatTheyThink, "These numbers show printers are very open to web based, work flow solutions. Industry vendors are responsible for presenting the right call to action, marketing message and solution for these printers. The data shows significant opportunities across the spectrum for workflow vendors, even within smaller print companies." The complete results are available at www.whattheythink.com.
