MBO Presents Epsilon Case Study at Inkjet Summit, Cites Value of Modular Finishing in Company’s Success

Press release from the issuing company

MBO America presented a case study to the Direct Mail/Marketing group at the recently concluded, sixth annual Inkjet Summit in Ponte Verde, Fla. The invitation-only, hosted-buyer event is billed as a strategic business forum for print providers, corporate executives, and vendors focused on inkjet solutions. MBO, a supplier of world-class, commercial-grade finishing solutions to the print market, was a Gold sponsor of this year’s event.

During a well-received presentation, Lance Martin, Vice President of National Accounts, described MBO’s experience assisting Epsilon’s St. Louis print facility with the integration of its production inkjet capabilities with flexible MBO finishing solutions designed to boost efficiency and maximize press performance. When Epsilon added a second inkjet web in 2016, and with MBO finishing in place, the company ultimately achieved speeds from 17,000-20,000 iph on its HD presses, with a 189 percent increase in digital print volume,150 percent increase in digital mail volume, and 13 percent increase in total annual mail volume. Epsilon added a third inkjet press and continued its year to year growth in 2017, with HD digital and mail volume up 24 percent and 32 percent, respectively, with overall mail volume growing 22 percent. According to Martin, the case study generated keen interest and prompted both a lively Q&A post-session and significant attendee follow-up.

“We had two days of 1:1 meetings with new and existing customers that were very helpful,” Martin said. “Activity was very high in the direct mail space, and we’ve had many requests for follow-up on our finishing systems.”

MBO’s modular finishing concept provoked a good deal of interest during the presentation and in the discussion of specific applications during 1:1 meetings, Martin added. Attendees proved eager to learn what can happen—as in Epsilon’s case—when high-speed, high-volume digital inkjet printing is complemented by finishing solutions that can expand or adapt as business grows or job requirements change.
