Danka Reports Third Quarter Loss of $4 Million

St. Petersburg, FL, February 1, 2001 - Danka Business Systems PLC (NASDAQ: DANKY) today announced results for its third quarter of fiscal 2001 ended December 31, 2000. Excluding the effect of restructuring charges discussed below, the Company reported a loss from operations of $3.8 million for the three months ended December 31, 2000, as compared to earnings of $41.6 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2000. Sequentially, earnings from operations decreased by $4.8 million compared to the second quarter of fiscal 2001, also before restructuring and prior quarter special charges.
