SeaChange Launches Earth Day Campaign

Friday, April 20, 2018

Press release from the issuing company

As SeaChange Print Innovations celebrates another Earth Day, the company knows how easy it can be to feel overwhelmed by all the waste in our everyday lives. “Even if we’re doing our part to reduce, reuse, and recycle, seeing pictures of pollution in big cities or trash islands in the ocean can make us wonder how can we make an even bigger impact,” notes Wendi Breuer, President and CEO at SeaChange.

This year SeaChange is joining people across the world in focusing on a specific goal in honor of Earth Day: End Plastic Pollution. Plastic pollution is one of the most important environmental problems that we face today, and this international effort aims to eliminate single-use plastics and achieve global regulation for the disposal of plastics.

SeaChange is committed to proactively being a part of the solution and is launching its own campaign that includes three parts:

1. Educational tools. SeaChange is reaching out through its blog, emails, and social media to share a series of educational tools that teach people about plastic waste, help people estimate their own plastic consumption, and offer important tips for reducing, refusing, reusing, recycling, and removing waste.

2. Park cleanup day. The company’s Earth Day Cleanup will bring SeaChangers, smiles, and good energy together as employees and friends gather to beautify local parks. People who are interested in joining the efforts can email Wendi Breuer, President and CEO, at w.breuer@seachangemn.com.

3. Client gift. SeaChange is helping clients avoid disposable plastic bottles and coffee cups with their choice of a reusable tumbler or glass cup.

“Sustainability is about more than just one single day,” adds Breuer. “Our efforts to minimize SeaChange’s carbon footprint are ongoing. For example, we generate 60 kWh of energy per year with our rooftop solar panel array, and we had a 12 percent increase in energy efficiency by installing LED lighting in our packaging and finishing area.”
