Snow, Sports and Spectacular Brand Awareness with Massivit 3D Printed Applications

Press release from the issuing company

The worlds of large format 3D printing and winter sports merged during this year’s annual Ski Deal Week*.

With the event attracting festival-goers of all age groups, the organisers wanted to inject new levels of creativity and interactive entertainment to boost customers’ engagement with the brand. This saw Ski Deal enlist the help of two European large format print providers – Italian advertising agency, SismaItalia, and French-based, METROPOLE, in partnership with Marie 3D – to produce a range of larger-than-life 3D printed winter sport accessories.

These boots are made for… selfies!

Produced on the companies’ Massivit 1800 3D Printers, the models included a pair of oversized goggles, a helmet, a full-size snowboard, and the main attraction – a gigantic ski boot – which featured prominently on social media after hundreds of visitors chose to climb inside for a selfie or two!

Measuring 2.2m-long and 2.3m-high (7.2ft x 7.5ft), the realistic ski boot comprised two pieces and was produced within just 38-hours. Once the gloss finish was applied, the lifelike boot was ready to be transported by cable car to its final destination – 3000m / 1.9 miles above ground level, to steal the limelight.

*Organized by ski-focused travel agency, Ski Deal, this week-long festival aims to provide avid skiers and snowboarders with a European winter sport and entertainment experience, this year located in Sella Ronda, Italy.
