New Site to Help Large Companies Manage Their Documents

Press release from the issuing company

A new web site was unveiled today to support the highly anticipated book, Designing a Document Strategy, by author Kevin Craine. The site www.document-strategy.com, provides a summary and outline of the book, chapter samples and a waiting list registration. The book will be released on October 1st by MC2 publishing. Designing a Document Strategy is a book for managers, technicians and consultants who want to implement a document strategy for a large organization. The book guides the reader through a five-phase process to design and implement a document strategy tailored to his/her particular situation. The need to implement a document strategy is a topic pursued with urgency in the field of information processing. But in spite of the industry buzz surrounding the subject, the inevitable lament is: "I know a document strategy is important, but how do I actually develop one?" This book provides a method and process to follow. Designing a Document Strategy presents proven tools such as cause-effect diagrams, flow charts and Pareto analysis in easy to understand terms. Case examples are integrated throughout and demonstrate how the methods in the book can be applied in the real world. As a result, whatever decisions and recommendations readers ultimately make, they will be more likely to bring about real-world, bottom-line benefits. The book is written so that anyone with an interest in improving his or her document systems will find the book to be a useful and inspiring tool. The overall method, however, is designed specifically for professionals in the document industry (a $125 billion industry in the U.S.). The more advanced components of information processing and computer technology are briefly considered but are not allowed to overshadow the practical, useful and entertaining approach of the book. Kevin Craine, MBA, EDPP is Manager of the Document Services Division for Regence BlueCross BlueShield, the largest health insurance provider in the Pacific Northwest. In addition, Craine is the editor of Document Processing Technology magazine, and a respected speaker and authority in process improvement, document processing and business technology. Craine received his BA in Organizational Communications and his MBA in the management of Science and Technology.
