Adobe to Use ReleaseNow Technology to Promote GoLive

Press release from the issuing company

SAN CARLOS, CA, - ReleaseNow, a leading commerce service provider, today announced an e-commerce agreement with Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE), the third largest PC software company in the U.S., to develop a promotional electronic Download Center for AdobeGoLiveTM software, Adobe's leading-edge Web design software. Available at www.adobe.com, the new promotional Download Center offers a 30-day, fully functional trial version of the product as a special promotion for purchasers of Adobe Photoshop 6.0. The promotion is being distributed on a bonus CD in 750,000 special packages of Photoshop 6.0 software and upgrades to customers in the United States. Until March 1, 2001, Adobe Photoshop 6.0 buyers can take advantage of a limited time offer to purchase GoLive 5.0 software for U.S. $99, a savings of $200 from the average estimated GoLive street price. This promotion is available only to customers who purchase GoLive software through the Download Center, as distributed with Photoshop 6.0. The GoLive 5.0 cross-sell promotion is an example of innovative e-marketing techniques made possible by electronic commerce, where offers on CDs and DVDs can be integrated with the functionality of an online store. This e-marketing capability provides Adobe with a way to provide special offers and information to new and existing customers. "Increasingly, our customers are relying upon the e-commerce capabilities of Adobe.com for the efficient delivery of software and other services," said Jim Stephens, senior vice president eBusiness, Adobe Systems Incorporated. "ReleaseNow's track record as a pioneer in e-marketing and delivery enables Adobe to deliver on its promise of providing an efficient and convenient online purchasing experience for our customers."
