GASC Announces Major Expansion of Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO 2000, which has completely filled the North Hall of the McCormick Place Complex for its September 24-27 run, has now become a "two hall show." The Graphic Arts Show Company (GASCÆ) has announced it is expanding its exhibit plans to include McCormick Place Lakeside Center (formerly called East Hall). At the heart of the expanded displays will be a newly committed 40,000 square foot exhibit by Xerox Corporation, providing highlights of its display at drupa 2000 last May in Germany, which was one of that show's most visited and highest-profile company exhibits. GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO has been virtually sold out in the North Hall for the past six months and, with the additional space now, promises show visitors 465,000 net square feet of displays mounted by almost 550 companies. The decision to add exhibits in a second hall, obviously, depends on our ability to offer visitors a compelling attraction in the new hall, and to promise exhibitors in the new space the same level of attendee attention enjoyed by those in the original facility," noted GASC President Regis J. Delmontagne. "Xerox' decision to present a very ambitious and complete display in Chicago gave us the opportunity to fulfill both these conditions and expand GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO in the best possible way," Delmontagne added. Delmontagne said GASC is considering staging a variety of special exhibits and events in the Lakeside Center, which would complement, and benefit from, the major Xerox display. Visitors can obtain complete information about GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO, and register for the exhibition, at the Graphic Arts Show Company web site, www.gasc.org
