Idealliance Certifies EIZO ColorEdge CG247x Soft Proofing Display

Press release from the issuing company

Achieves latest certification for Soft Proofing Display and Systems aligned with global reference print conditions to meet digital media demands.

Alexandria, Va.– Idealliance, the global non-profit for the Visual Communications and Media Industry, with offices around the world, has certified the EIZO ColorEdge CG247x Soft Proofing Display through its updated Soft Proofing System Certification program. The Soft Proofing System Certification, revised in 2016 to meet global color needs based on ISO 12646 and aligned to widely used characterized reference print conditions (CRPCs), sets the bar for display manufacturers whose technology strives to simulate the appearance of hard copy print and proof conditions viewed under standard lighting. Soft proofing systems are evaluated based on requirements specified in ISO 14861.

“The Idealliance Soft Proofing Display and System Certification program has been updated to best serve the printing and packaging industries. With analysis of the latest global print standards, this soft proofing display certification ensures accurate, relevant, and repeatable display performance for designers, premedia, brand management, and print workflows,” says Tim Baechle, Idealliance Vice President, Global Print Technologies & Workflows. “EIZO is a leader in all these capacities, as this system certification of its ColorEdge display demonstrates.”

Certification follows a thorough lab evaluation by Rochester Institute of Technology’s Printing Applications Laboratory, which serves as an independent third-party evaluator, quantifying display performance for calibration, stability, tone, and contrast both normally and angular, as well as RBG and CMYK patch variation. “Analysis of the ColorEdge display showed remarkably stable calibration with minimal variance, as well as being a highly accurate representation of the reference dataset, CRPC6-GRACoL 2013,“ says Jordan Gorski, Idealliance Project Manager of Certification Programs.

Idealliance is the leading certifier of skills, systems, materials, and facilities required for state-of-the-art media production. Idealliance’s System Certifications serve as reliable standards of evaluation of print and color management technology for OEMs, commercial partners, and developers. Developed and managed by the Idealliance global Print Properties and Colorimetric Council (PPC), these system certifications maintain the highest standard for printing, proofing, and colorimetric evaluations and specifications across print media supply chains, and serve the development of international standards.
