Dell Taps Imation for Technology Testing Facility

ROUND ROCK, Texas, Dell, a world leader in Internet commerce and infrastructure computing, today announced the opening of its newest Dell Technology Solutions Center (DTSC) within Imation Corp.'s Storage Area Network (SAN) Solutions Lab in Oakdale, Minnesota. Dell customers can use the DTSC for validation testing, performance tuning and scalability testing of business solutions. Imation will manage testing in the DTSC and provide its expertise in storage and lab administration for Dell customers. The Dell Technology Solutions Center offers Dell's customers access to Imation's sophisticated testing facility to validate and tune applications for use on the Internet and in an IT infrastructure environment. Using the lab, Dell customers can simulate virtually any networking configuration and allow for "real-world" testing. Dell also has Technology Solutions Centers in Florham Park, New Jersey; Austin, Texas; Limerick, Ireland and Shanghai, China. "By leveraging Imation's storage engineering and SAN lab expertise, we are able to extend our capabilities to simulate and test a variety of storage environments," said Barry Hutt, director of Dell Technology Consulting. "This agreement with Imation complements Dell's rapid growth in SAN deployments by enabling a greater reach into testing and validation of specific customer application environments."
