WhatTheyThink Launches New Finishing Section with Trish Witkowski

Press release from the issuing company

Trish Witkowski to Lead Focus Area on Post-Press Technologies

WhatTheyThink today announced the launch of a new special interest section dedicated to finishing and other post-press technologies for the printing and packaging industries. This includes binding, folding and cutting, coatings, digital enhancement, mail prep and other applications. The section will feature news and analysis relative to finishing technologies and workflow strategies for short- and long-run printing. It will also follow developments among key suppliers to the industry and manufacturers using post-press technologies, along with print finishing trends.  The section will be moderated by finishing expert Trish Witkowski.

“We’ve been watching the growth and innovation in the post-press area for several years,” said WhatTheyThink President Eric Vessels, “and with this new section we’ll be better able to cover the exciting developments in this segment and to help educate our members in ways these technologies and techniques can help them grow their businesses.  We’re also thrilled to welcome Trish to the WhatTheyThink team. She’s long been a respected voice in the finishing space, and we look forward to sharing her contributions and leadership with our members.”

According to Witkowski, “We’re seeing an industry-wide focus on finishing as the place to stop bottlenecks, gain efficiencies and automate workflows. As the most costly step of the process to make an error, and one of the hardest to find skilled operators for, this movement is truly a necessity.” She points out that there is a lot of excitement in the channel and advancements that have made state-of-the-art print finishing equipment and techniques more accessible for printers and print clients of all sizes. “I’m looking forward to sharing valuable information about where we are, and where post press is going. I also love to learn about the innovative ways companies are leveraging the finishing equipment they have to open up new business opportunities.”

The new section, accessible from the main WhatTheyThink navigation bar, will be a one-stop location for news, features, videos and other coverage of this exciting and rapidly-evolving industry segment.
