Greece’s Leading Photo Gift Retailer Chooses Taopix

Press release from the issuing company

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom – Digital Publications Group has invested in the Taopix photo commerce platform to help expand its presence across the globe.

The Thessaloniki business, founded in 1975, has ambitious plans to upscale its current operations to become a truly global player and market leader in the personalised photo industry.

Currently DPG is the leading photo gift retailer in Greece and Cyprus and has many loyal customers of Greek/Cypriot origin around the world.

The business started as a photo processing lab and quickly became the largest in the country. The owners pioneered the manufacture of digital photo albums in 1993 and have grown this side of the business to what it is today - a firm favourite with consumers and professional photographers alike.

The company prides itself on the outstanding quality of its photo products and uses a range of equipment at its production facility in Thessaloniki including Konica Minolta, Kodak, Noritsu, Fuji and Durst.

CEO, Tasos Papadopoulos, shares his vision; “We’ve seen huge growth over the last couple of years thanks to our e-commerce and marketing teams. Our deep understanding of digital marketing, conversion rate optimization and performance analytics has enabled us to fine tune our offering and really increase the number of orders. We’re constantly monitoring customer behaviour and continually optimising, even the slight colour change of a button can result in twice the conversions.”

“We’re looking forward to the next stage in our evolution and will begin by replacing our current out of date platform with Taopix. We then plan to roll out a new online retail presence across multiple countries with a new brand and new product range. We’ll manufacture at our Greek production site initially then roll out multiple facilities worldwide.”

“Luxury is our watchword and every product we sell has to be of the highest quality. We’re looking to expand our range with products such as personalised smartphone and tablet cases as well as personalised jewellry although our stunning photo books will always be our flagship products.”

Taopix Business Development Manager, Michael Carey, adds “It’s a privilege to be working with Tasos and his team. His vision and ambition are truly inspiring and we’re thrilled that he has chosen Taopix as his personalisation platform to help him realise his future plans.”
