Local FASTSIGNS® Transforms Historic Venue for One-Night Event

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, Ill. – A locally owned and operated FASTSIGNS® franchise helped an international ladder company take their trade show event to new heights.

During the 2017 Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) Convention in Austin, Texas, WernerCo® hosted a private event for customers and attendees at the Coppertank Event Center in the heart of downtown. WernerCo wanted to wrap the exterior of the 12,000-square-foot building for maximum brand visibility, offering a unique event experience like never before. To achieve this, the team at FASTSIGNS in Elk Grove Village, Illinois was up to the task: printing, manufacturing and installing all of the signs and graphics for the monumental event.

“The biggest challenge we faced was that the building wrap and event graphics needed to be temporary and removed the day after with no damage to the historic building, while providing a fixed, vibrant look during the event,” explained David Becker, owner of FASTSIGNS of Elk Grove Village and Arlington Heights. “We began researching and testing materials that would work best on a temporary basis. Working with WernerCo before on other jobs, we knew their expectations for quality and brand consistency.”

FASTSIGNS of Elk Grove Village decided to use Photo Tex ™ (OPA), a peal and stick adhesive made of polyester fabric, and printed the graphics using their two HP Latex 360 printers. The FASTSIGNS installation team wrapped two sides of the event building, totaling 160 feet in length.

WernerCo needed additional event signage including directional signs, photo backdrops and promotional graphics. FASTSIGNS provided arrow-shaped concrete graphics on the sidewalks to direct attendees to the venue; a branded mural adhered to an interior brick wall for photo opportunities; and full vehicle wraps for trucks displayed at the event.

“This project turned into more than just a building wrap; we provided a comprehensive solution,” Becker said. “We can put branding on just about any surface we come across.”

All event signage was removed the following morning; the building wrap came down in less than two hours with no damage to the building.

Mark Peters, director of marketing for WernerCo Brands, said, “FASTSIGNS of Elk Grove Village is our go-to company when it comes to graphics and we know whatever project we bring to them, it will turn out with an incredible solution.”
