Social media competition highlights printed and digital Christmas cards

Las Vegas, Nev. – Overnight Prints, an online printing company, hosted a social media holiday contest in search of the most festive themed cards. The #Printmas Art & Design Challenge ran through the month of December from the 7th-31st across major social media platforms for a $50 prize and blog feature.

Dozens of holiday card designs were shared and tagged with hashtags #OvernightPrints and #Printmas throughout Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. To complete their entry, participants were also required to follow Overnight Prints on social media. Various season’s greetings entered in the #Printmas Challenge ranged from traditional printed double-sided postcards and bi-fold greeting cards to digital Christmas cards.

Winning the competition for her originally designed family Christmas Card was graphic designer and illustrator Alex Tebow (@alextebowdesigns) from Salt Lake City, Utah. The card won for originality in both design and photography, combining seasonal colors and patterns with a fun family portrait and unique print design.

“Designing our family’s holiday card each year is the highlight of the holiday season for me!” Tebow exclaimed. “Since I usually do graphic design work for others, I look forward to creating something more personal.”

Her double-sided postcard with rounded corners featured a forest green knit texture pattern with photos of her sons in matching pajamas posing with Santa Claus. Her eldest, Tommy, age 8, chose the outfits and colors for the card design. The message read, “Find your angels and love them. Rarely calm, but always bright. With love, Matthew & Tommy. (Bill and Alex send their love too).”

Tebow will receive a blog feature and $50 towards Overnight Prints products. She plans on designing and printing new business cards for her freelance graphic design business, Alex Tebow Designs (alextebow.com).

Top contenders for the $50 prize from Overnight Prints included amusing family portraits themed after “The Incredibles” animated film; a tropical beach-themed photo session; seasonal designs featuring snowflakes and ornaments; and original illustration of a cat knocking over a Christmas tree.
