SGI Dubai showcases potential of textile printing

Press release from the issuing company

Dubai - As per the Global Industry Analysts report, printed textiles market is projected to touch 29.8 billion square meters by 2020, due to the technology enhancement aimed at improving print speeds, design and efficiency. This is gathering momentum in the Middle East and Africa region as well.

Just to give an example the UAE stands as the world’s fourth largest trading centre of textiles, generating an approximate $17.5 billion annually. SGI Dubai 2018 will serve as the ideal platform to explore this new and potential business opportunity.

Screen printing continues to hold a major share of the global textile printing market, in terms of production volume of printed textiles. Growth in the coming years will also be driven by the new digital textile printing market. Some of the areas to be considered are:

  • Heat transfer printing
  • Digital textile printing
  • Other fabric printing
  • Custom flags for tradeshows and conventions
  • POS displays
  • Table covers with logos and banners
  • Wall graphics among others

The Gulf region and especially the UAE have been traditionally involved in the textile trade from handicraft days to the screen printing era and now increasingly towards digital printing on textile substrates. These are opportunities not to be missed.
