GPO Names Chief Acquisition Officer

Press release from the issuing company

Washington – U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Acting Director Jim Bradley appoints Lorna Baptiste-Jones as the agency’s Chief Acquisition Officer.  She oversees the planning and procuring of commodities and services for GPO. Baptiste-Jones also monitors and ensures regulatory compliance, reviews requirements and specifications, and establishes procurement procedures.

“Acquisitions is a very important part of GPO’s business operations with Federal agencies and the private-sector.  Lorna’s institutional knowledge of the Federal procurement process and contracts makes her a natural choice to lead our Acquisitions team,” said Acting GPO Director Jim Bradley.

Baptiste-Jones brings three decades of Acquisition experience to her current position at GPO. Prior to joining GPO in 2016, she was the Director of Procurement at the Federal Election Commission. Baptiste-Jones also served at the Department of Defense. While at the Department of Defense, Baptiste-Jones was Branch Chief, Contracting Officer, Procurement Analyst, and Assistant Director of the Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) for the Army. She retired from Active Duty military service after spending 20 years in the U.S. Army.

Baptiste-Jones graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hawaii Pacific University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies. She also holds degrees from Murray State University, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude, with a Masters Degree in Human Development and Leadership and earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies.
