InfoLabel: An Early Adopter of the Gallus Labelfire 340 Digital Web Press

Press release from the issuing company

InfoLabel, a service-oriented label printing company based in Clifton Park, NY, specializes in pressure sensitive labels for personal care, household chemical, beverage, gourmet food, and premium private label markets. InfoLabel leverages a high-tech approach with a high-touch, customer-focused mindset to deliver the best label printing solutions to their clients.

After an impressive live demo at Gallus headquarters in St. Gallen in May 2016 and understanding how a total inline solution would eliminate converting equipment costs and additional labor and waste, Mark Dufort, President of InfoLabel, was convinced that the Gallus Labelfire 340 made sense for his business. He signed a contract for delivery in the last quarter of

2016, making InfoLabel the first Gallus Labelfire 340 installation in North America. It has been running flawlessly since January 2017.

According to Mark, “Our investment in the Gallus Labelfire 340 will allow us to provide our customers with exceptional quality, shorter lead times, and lower costs.”

“The first thing that caught my attention,” continued Mark, “was the run speeds – three times faster than my existing digital presses, and no click charges! Also, the Gallus Labelfire 340 easily handles 8 colors instead of 7, giving me a lot of flexibility.”

But the most impressive factor for Mark was that the Gallus Labelfire 340 is a total inline solution, from file download to finished labels. It handles digital, flexo, cold foil, rotary screen, die-cutting – from start to finish all on a single machine. No more moving reels to a finishing line; no expensive secondary equipment; no additional high labor costs; and much lower material waste. “Plus,” added Mark, “Gallus Labelfire 340 can print flexo white or digital white depending on label design needs, with no slowdown of press speeds.”

The Gallus Labelfire 340 improves speed to market while simultaneously meeting customers’ cost reduction initiatives. As a single-pass solution incorporating flexo, digital, converting and a variety of embellishments on a single press, InfoLabel has seen gains in production efficiency and print quality. A rotary screen module can even be added in one of the downstream flexo stations to produce tactile screen finishes. All of these single- pass features give InfoLabel’s customers virtually unlimited opportunities to enhance shelf appeal at manageable and competitive costs.

Add to that the fact that the Gallus Labelfire 340 produces exquisite detail thanks to its 1200 dpi resolution at 50m/min running speeds, and no other technology on the market even comes close to Labelfire’s performance and efficiency.

“When it comes to meeting the needs of our customers and target markets,” concluded Mark, “InfoLabel has always tried to stay in front with sound investments in printing and finishing equipment. Our investments in digital printing

began almost eight years ago, and with the latest investment in the Gallus Labelfire 340, we are confident in our ability to strengthen our product offering.”
