President of the Envelope Manufacturers Association Receives USPS Award

5/13/02 - ALEXANDRIA, VA - The United States Postal Service recently awarded Maynard H. Benjamin, CAE, president of the Envelope Manufacturers Association with its distinguished Special Achievement Award. Mr. Benjamin has taken several innovative leadership positions in support of the USPS and the mailing industry, including industry leadership as a member of the Mail Security Task Force's Mail Preparation Work Group, testifying before the GAO Conference on Options to Enhance Mail Security, and leading the industry efforts to research solutions for paper and envelopes to withstand the effects of irradiation. Mr. Benjamin also created and co-chaired the Intelligent Envelope Study, which has led to numerous opportunities for First-Class Mail and advertising mail. The USPS Special Achievement Award recognizes individuals or corporations that have demonstrated a high degree of innovation, leadership, and influence within the package shipping industry. Individuals have created and implemented efficient, cost-effective enhancements to increase the value of mail to their customers and their companies.
