2002 PrintImage Excellence Awards Competition: Winners Announced

Press release from the issuing company

May 13, 2002--PrintImage International--formerly the National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP)--recently announced the winners of its 2002 PrintImage Excellence Awards competition. The project--developed by PrintImage International with sponsorship by Hammermill Papers and A.B.Dick--attracted more than 220 entries from copy shops, quick printers and small format commercial printers. Entries were judged in over 50 categories, demonstrating the quality that is produced on small presses, digital output devices, and other equipment. A panel of professional judges from all aspects of the printing industry judged entries on design, color preparation, printing quality and finishing. Winners were announced during the Awards Luncheon at the 2002 Annual Conference and The Quick Print Show, February 22-27 in Orlando, FL. Winners are also featured in the April 2002 issue of the PrintImage Network newsletter, on the PrintImage website www.printimage.org, and actual pieces were displayed in the PrintImage booth during the tradeshow. Along with recognition in industry publications, winners will receive an award with their company's name on it, as well as an award for their client. President & CEO Steve Johnson stated, "This competition not only provides peer recognition of quality work; it also positions the printer as the obvious choice to current and prospective print buyers for all of their print communications needs." Hammermill was an exclusive sponsor of the Color Copy categories, which consisted of a total of nine winners. Continuing their support from last year, Hammermill also submitted winners from their own annual competition. Hammermill's Ned Spangler was on hand at the Awards Luncheon to present the winners with their awards. Judged Best of Show in the competition was an entry by Custom Printing Company of North Little Rock, AR consisting of Cards, Invitations and Greetings on a Single or Two Color Press. The other 50 winners included printers from fifteen states and two countries. View other winners at http://www.printimage.org/PINews/72.html
