Print manufacturing workflow system advances future of print

LAS VEGAS, NV - For the second year, Opensoft Inc. CEO Brett Heap will be speaking at the 9th edition of the CIP4 Workflow Symposium on JDF, Industry 4.0 and Workflow Automation. The global symposium for printers and vendors is set for Oct. 26 at the University of Stuttgart in Germany.

Scheduled for 4:30 p.m., Heap will present “Product Fulfillment and Information Tracking” to industry professionals and media students. The CEO will discuss how print manufacturing workflow system ProFIT, developed by Opensoft Inc., automates the entire print production workflow by matching orders with the most efficient equipment and boxing options to maximize output and minimize cost.

“The future of the print industry lies in automation,” Heap shared. “To benefit future generations entering the field, we need to address bottlenecks in print production today. ProFIT is designed to increase profits while optimizing gang-run printing using advanced technology.”

Product Fulfillment and Information Tracking (ProFIT) manages print production workflow from imposition to shipment. The open-source system manages the flow of orders from web-to-print sites to print providers, and determines the best-fit machinery for the job from UV coating to paper cutting. Additionally, the system provides job tracking, prints shipping labels and includes quality assurance procedures.

CIP4 is a not-for-profit standards association that fosters the adoption of process automation in the printing industry. This year’s edition of the CIP4 Workflow Symposium will host presentations and live product demonstrations to printers, publishers, media experts and vendors at Hochschule der Medien, Nobelstr. 10, 70569 Stuttgart, Hall 011-013.
