GSB Digital Expands Capabilities with New Scodix Enhancements

Press release from the issuing company

New York digital printer becomes first in the state to offer new enhancement solution

New York – GSB Digital is proud to announce the recent addition of a Scodix digital enhancement press to its production facility in New York City. The press comes equipped with Scodix SENSE™ technology and allows GSB Digital to add high-quality digital embellishment and digital foil capabilities to its projects. GSB Digital is the first in the state of New York to offer this type of digital print embellishment technology. Since its addition in early October, the Scodix digital enhancement press has allowed for the production of digital enhancements and embellishments to print projects in-house; including digital versions of high gloss spot applications, textured effects and digitally applied foil.

“GSB Digital’s mission is to empower our clients by providing innovative technology and passionate people to execute their print projects. We strive to produce items that strengthen our clients’ message and aids in their success,” said GSB Digital President Stephan Steiner. “Adding this piece of equipment was a no brainer for our team as we always want to offer more innovative solutions to our clients.”

The enhancements can be applied to a variety of projects including promotional collateral, social stationery items, book covers, folding packages and most other printed pieces within a specific size and thickness ratio. The embellishments created by the Scodix create a raised tactile element to printed pieces using a clear polymer, which elevates value, spotlights a product or simply creates a more memorable experience with a printed piece through our sense of touch.

“The embellishments we can now offer to the New York City marketplace are going to change how people interact with print.” said Marketing Director Jessica Andersen. “We’re proud to be the first to have this technology in our area and are excited to offer a lasting print differentiator to our clients and their projects via a digital process.”

GSB Digital plans to host several client educational events as well as an open house over the coming months. These events will focus on the details of file setup, techniques and medias to use for best applications and design tips for utilizing the new technology. More information about these events will be announced on the news section of the GSB Digital website.
