IIJ highlighting high speed wallpaper applications at IJC

Press release from the issuing company

Swavesey, UK - Latest developments in digital inkjet wallpaper production will be explained by Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ) at the Inkjet Conference (IJC) in Dusseldorf, Germany, from 24-25 October 2017.

Dr Veena Sarojiniamma, IIJ’s Head of Ink Technology, will give a presentation entitled, Inkjet For High Speed Wallpaper Applications, at 12.15 on the first day of the event.

Her presentation will cover an overview of the current market, challenges, requirements and the future of digital printing for wallpaper applications.

“The European wallpaper market has been contracting slowly since 2006,” said John Corrall, IIJ founder and Managing Director. “Recent developments in single-pass digital printing have opened up new opportunities for interior design. Digital print at full production speeds removes the limitations placed on designers by conventional presses.”

“We see real opportunities for inkjet in the wallpaper market to reverse the downward trend. Inkjet applications are going to climb extremely quickly – wallpaper is one. What we keep saying is that it’s ‘hockey stick’ time for inkjet in a lot of markets.  Wallpaper is a classic example of a future growth opportunity for inkjet. The economics work and the technology is ready. The growth curve is about to bend sharply upwards.”

The IJC brings together industry and academic leaders in their fields who speak about the latest advances and future developments driving digital print.
