Danny Oblad Joins Fortusis

Cypress, TX – Danny Oblad has joined Fortusis, LLC, assuming the role of president. Fortusis acquired the ICED print brands early in October that includes Kwik Kopy Printing, Kwik Kopy Business Centers, The Ink Well, Franklin’s Printing, and American Wholesale Thermographers.

Danny is the owner of Kwik Kopy Business Center in a suburb of Salt Lake City, and has been in the graphics arena for 28 years.

After working for the original Kwik Kopy owners, Mac and Pat MacFarlane, for 15 years, Danny and his wife, Lisa, bought the business in 2007. Their sons, Aaron and Sam, are now in the business, with younger son, Evan, waiting in the wings.

In 2013 the Oblads rebranded to Kwik Kopy Business Center, and moved into a 23,000-square-foot facility. The location offers the traditional commercial printing, plus a full sign shop.

Since 2007, Danny has consistently claimed one or several of the top sales awards given annually to high performers, and maintains his position as a member of the Million $$ Club and The Winners Circle.

“I love the history of printing and how it has shaped our world – and how it continues to innovate to this day,” said Danny. “I love customer service, which I believe is a lost art and shouldn’t be underestimated.”

Curtis Cheney, CEO of Fortusis, LLC, worked with Danny for several years before acquiring the franchise group from ICED. He expressed his admiration for Danny’s focus on automation and innovation, which leads to operational efficiencies. “Danny’s favorite quote is ‘make life better,’ and he applies that to any endeavor he’s involved in – family, employees, anyone he interacts with.” Cheney then stated, “I know he will help make life better for his fellow center owners by sharing what he has learned about our industry, and by owning his own business, for 25 years.”

Cheney stressed that while he will be involved in long-range goals and planning for the franchise system, Danny will be more hands-on with the owners, helping them streamline their operation to maximize their investment.

Danny explained his reason for joining Fortusis by saying, “It’s fun to make a difference in people’s lives.” Cheney believes that’s just what Danny will do.
