Digital Printing Technology Helps Xerox’s Project: SET THE PAGE FREE Come to Life

Press release from the issuing company

Xerox has released the next wave of exclusive content from Project: SET THE PAGE FREE, a collaborative book project featuring 14 award-winning authors sharing their unique perspectives on the modern workplace. In this new wave of the project, Xerox adds Billy Collins, Sloane Crosley, Jonathan Ames and Aimee Mann to its list of powerhouse talents contributing to the campaign.

Xerox has tapped long-time partner Mercury Print Productions to digitally print a small run of limited-release copies of the book. The Rochester-based print provider will use the Xerox Nuvera 144 EA Production System for book blocks using standard black and white ink and the Xerox iGen4 Press to develop vibrant and attention-grabbing color cover pages that capture the energetic spirit of the project.

The Nuvera 144 has the flexibility to scale to fit projects of many sizes, including smaller jobs like this one. Additionally, the iGen4’s color capabilities and high-quality output for short runs are ideal for producing a book cover of this kind.

“Digital print technology is the ideal way to tackle this project,” said John Place, CEO and president, Mercury Print Productions. “By speeding time-to-market, reducing waste and lowering fixed costs, digital printing affords publishers the flexibility to print only what they need, and print providers the ability to deliver those jobs at a low cost.”

Hard copies of the SET THE PAGE FREE book will be available to attendees of a VIP event celebrating the project on Oct. 27 and for download as a free eBook in late October. For author videos, podcast interviews, contributor excerpts and more, visit SetThePageFree.com and follow #SETTHEPAGEFREE.
