Print 17: BWI Successfully Debuts Flagship CTP and Plate Lines, Introduces Two New Customers

Press release from the issuing company

Cleveland, OH - With 20,000 professionals from the graphic arts industry in attendance from Sept. 10-14, Cleveland, OH-based prepress leader Bob Weber Inc. hosted dozens of visitors at Booth #3663 to witness the company as it debuted its flagship prepress solutions lines, featuring the BWI 800 Series CTP and Paragon DOP (develop on press) plate, along with introducing two new customers.

“We’re thrilled at responses from the industry to our first time at Print 17 as exhibitors and the new equipment and consumables lines,” said Business Development Director - William Weber. “We definitely feel that the new friendships and connections we’ve made at the show will help us have a greater impact and reach to companies who are looking for ways to expand and modernize their prepress departments at a cost that small-to-medium businesses can afford without compromising on quality.”

Print 17 also marked the official sale of two BWI 800 Series CTP units to Allegra of Lansing, MI and Business Printing Service of Albuquerque, NM. Allegra will also be using the Paragon Plus and Paragon Plus CR positive thermal plates, while BPS will be running the Paragon DOP negative thermal plate.

“I don’t think we could have picked any two better or more appropriate customers to join the BWI family than Allegra and BPS,” Weber said. “Much like BWI, they are both family-run businesses who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities. Obviously, we know there are plenty of other suppliers out there, so it’s really an honor for us that they chose BWI. We’re looking forward to a long and successful relationship with both companies.”

With over 800 units sold worldwide since 2010, the private-labeled BWI 400, 800 Series and 800 Plus CTPs are constructed with quality parts from Japan and the USA, utilize a diode technology, use simple electronics for low maintenance, moving parts are pneumatics, and heavy-duty construction all at an affordable price. Each series features three models with speeds of 16, 22, and 28 plates per hour and includes Tiff catcher software compatible with the Xitron Navigator Tiff RIP and Sierra Workflow.

BWI’s Paragon Plate Line features a full range of plates that fit seamlessly into any modern prepress operation, including the Paragon Plus and Paragon Plus CR positive thermal plates, Paragon DOP (develop-on-press) negative thermal plate and the Paragon Violet negative photopolymer plate. All of the plates are made with high-quality Japanese and European aluminum and offer both upfront cost savings as well as long-term savings on energy, water and chemistry.
