Press release from the issuing company
An investment in a Barbieri measuring device is an investment in reliable color management. Today, precision measuring is a critical guarantee of unbeatable quality for digital printing. The market leader in the field of color measuring technology for digital large-format printing has now launched a ground-breaking benchmark product: The Spectro LFP qb combines incredible universality and precision with a range of new features and also supports the M1 measurement mode, which is now a must for many customers. It is a platform that satisfies the most stringent customer requirements – and an investment in the future that optimizes the workflow in the spirit of sustainability.
A world first: Spectro LFP qb
The new spectrophotometer from the House of Barbieri combines the latest color measuring technologies with innovative methods of illumination and comes with both tried and tested features and new features and applications, which open up a whole world of new possibilities for the user. The Spectro LFP qb comprises three components: The Spectro LFP platform, the measuring stage with an enhanced clamping system and integrated M1 backlighting (for transmitted light measurement). The spectral unit (measuring head) incorporates the latest qb technology and comprises the high-precision spectral core, three light sources for uniform illumination of the media surface from three different angles, and seven LEDs to guarantee real M1 daylight illumination pursuant to the standard. The spectral unit has another extremely useful feature: The measuring head is removable and therefore ideal for fast and reliable spot measurement. The third component, the sensing unit, is a real innovation in the field of professional digital printing: an integrated camera offering a range of applications never available before. With the help of the camera, the measuring device automatically recognizes the target, performs a precision measurement and communicates the position and the photo to the RIP software for further processing.
The main features at a glance
The highly specialized family company Barbieri has invested considerable time in the development of the Spectro LFP qb. The result is a sophisticated device with fully automatic measuring and a new method of illumination for reliable results and an absolutely consistent standard of quality. Another big advantage of the new spectrophotometer is its user-friendly design: With a single click, the process is completed in no time at all thanks to twice-the-speed measuring. There is no alternative to the Spectro LFP qb not only for those who need to work in conformity with M1 but for everyone who wants to be efficient in the long term. That is because of the impressive cost savings deriving from the effective use of time and materials and avoidance of spoilage, quite apart from the aspect of sustainability and the targeted use of resources. Finally, the Spectro LFP qb satisfies the most demanding customer requirements at all levels – from the design studio and printer to the client and end user – and always in line with the motto: Advertising must stand out!
"We want to turn our customers into top performers so that they can deliver the very best certified quality to their customers. Our Spectro LFP qb incorporates the know-how we have built up through fifteen years of collaboration with leading international bodies, regular customer feedback and experience on the market. Now we are satisfied: We can offer our customers not only solutions for existing problems but for the first time also a platform that opens up a world of new possibilities and applications." Markus Barbieri, Director of R&D
Beta tester statements
"We have been thrilled users of Spectro LFP from the very beginning. With the new Spectro LFP qb, Barbieri has developed a revolutionary device: with an extremely high measuring speed and variable apertures again, and universal suitability for all media – whether hard or flexible and even for textiles and transparent materials. Compatibility with standard RIPs and software packages and above all the absolutely precise and reliable measuring results with all possible materials ensure we get top quality and also save time and money!" (Lorenz Ismer, L-ARTS)
"It was my pleasure to be one of the first to test the new Barbieri Spectro LFP qb hardware, which is my best (and only) way to create real M1 profiles for any kind of substrate, which I need for the new Fogra51 Color Management! The new device is much better than the current Spectro LFP Series 3; it is more stable and I see many more features like auto alignment, the more convenient sample holder, the detachable measuring head for spot color measurements and other nice things. I'm really looking forward to getting this new and helpful tool." (Gunther Fells, KL-Druck)
