Laird Plastics Joins Growing SGP Community as Gold Patron

Press release from the issuing company

Sayville, NY - The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), a non-profit organization that certifies printing facilities' sustainability best practices, is pleased to announce Laird Plastics as the newest SGP Patron at the gold level. Based in Irving, TX, Laird Plastics' multinational team services more than 25,000 customers and offers a comprehensive network of service centers and inventories with an extensive product range including such major segments as acrylics and polycarbonates, graphics materials (substrates and a variety of higher end materials) and mechanical/engineering materials. Additionally, Laird is the only nationwide plastic distributor to have a dedicated business unit solely focused on the recycling of plastics.

"Over the course of the past several years, our understanding of sustainability issues has established us as an industry leader," says Nicole Papadakis, national accounts manager of Recycling & Industrial. "Of particular concern to us at Laird Plastics is the recycling / reuse and repurposing of materials, as well as accurate disposal documentation. For this reason Laird Plastics has put in place "green" best practices to demonstrate environmental stewardship through recycling."

As a Gold Patron, Laird Plastics recognizes SGP's continued role in advancing the sustainable printing practices in both the print and buying communities. "By supporting SGP as a Patron, Laird Plastics shows their commitment to transforming the marketplace and leadership for inclusion of sustainable business practices in the industry," says Marci Kinter, SGP executive committee member and technical committee chair.

With the support of its patrons, SGP is able to continue promoting sustainability to the printing industry, keep certification affordable and provide educational programs. To learn more about becoming an SGP Patron, email [email protected].
