Gescom S.p.A. Purchases Fourth NUR Fresco Digital Production Printer

Press release from the issuing company

NUR Fresco Models Help Digital Print Service Provider Become a High Volume, One-Stop-Shop LOD, Israel, May 8 -- NUR Macroprinters Ltd., a world-leading manufacturer of wide and super wide format digital printing systems and consumables, today announced that Gescom S.p.A. of Viterbo, Italy, a leading digital print service provider will soon become the first NUR Macroprinters customer to install and operate four NUR Fresco HiQ wide-format digital production printers in a single high volume production facility. In March 2002, Gescom purchased its fourth NUR Fresco, the 3.2 meter NUR Fresco HiQ 3200, joining two NUR Fresco HiQ 1800 models (that print 1.8 meters wide) and an additional NUR Fresco HiQ 3200 in the company's wide-format printing equipment list. "Our key selling advantages are low price and fast delivery so we needed the fastest and most reliable machines available on the market today," says Dr. Ettore Segatori, Director of Gescom S.p.A. "As our business and the number of customers we serve have grown, it has become more difficult to estimate demand. Our NUR Frescos give us the ability to produce high volumes of work at high speed so we can meet peaks in demand and still provide high quality and fast delivery." Looking to enhance its competitiveness in the fast growing wide format printing marketplace, Gescom installed its first high speed, wide-format NUR Fresco 1800 in November 2000. Replacing its outmoded piezoelectric plotters with faster, higher quality NUR Fresco enabled Gescom to broaden its customer base across Europe and to establish a strong foothold in the lucrative and growing exhibition graphics business. Requiring additional productivity and format flexibility as its business expanded, Gescom installed a second NUR Fresco 3200 in March 2001. In September 2001, it installed another NUR Fresco HiQ 1800 and most recently, in March 2002, Gescom purchased its fourth NUR Fresco, a second 3.2 meter wide model. As business continues to grow and the company replaces its last piezoelectric plotters it will likely purchase additional NUR printers in the future. Today, Gescom has become a "one-stop-shop" printing an average of 13,000 sq. m. per month on each of its NUR Fresco HiQ machines, in addition to offering prepress services and short run digital offset printing. Its customers include screen printers and other commercial printing companies in Italy, the U.K. Spain, and France looking for short runs, fast delivery and high quality production of a wide variety of work. Gescom's expertise ranges from point-of-sale banners, self-adhesive vinyl signage and vehicle wraps, to mesh wraps for building sites and a growing business in exhibition graphics. Concludes Dr. Segatori, "NUR is a true 'solutions' provider. And the NUR Fresco HiQ is, in our opinion, the best production printer available on the market today. Our NUR Frescos have enabled us to replace our older piezoelectric plotters with machines that deliver higher quality and are more productive. NUR has become our true partner, providing the right products plus the comprehensive service and support we've needed as we have grown."
