RIVER FALLS, WI -- AMS Spectral UV – A Baldwin Technology Company received an InterTech Technology Award for its LED-UV XP Series curing technology during the 2017 Premier Print Awards and InterTech Technology Awards Gala, which was hosted by Printing Industries of America in conjunction with the PRINT 17 exhibition. The commemoration was held at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Hotel on the Magnificent Mile on Sunday evening, where 10 InterTech recipients were honored, including AMS Spectral UV for its XP Series curing technology, the first LED technology ever awarded such a distinction in the printing industry.

Company president Steve Metcalf accepted the award on behalf of AM Spectral UV. He commented: "We are proud and honored to receive recognition from Printing Industries of America – it shows that the power of LED curing is something that can and does give printers new opportunities to transform the value of their presses and realize a better way to print and an unarguable ROI. We look forward to helping printers around the world grow with UV-LED curing, by providing them a now-proven technology that will help them diversify into new substrates, add stunning coating effects, and increase their throughput."

The InterTech Technology Awards, established in 1978, honor the development of technologies predicted to have a major impact on the graphic arts industry. According to Printing Industries of America, more than 80% of technologies that receive an award experience continued commercial success in the marketplace.
