IDS Selects Pitney Bowes AcceleJet Printing and Finishing System

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., - Pitney Bowes Inc., a global technology company that provides innovative products and solutions to power commerce, today announced that Intelligent Document Solutions (IDS), a leading provider of statement printing and mailing for credit unions, banks and municipalities, has selected a second AcceleJet printing and finishing system for its high-volume statement printing operations in Madison Heights, Mich.

Each month, IDS prints and mails more than 17 million impressions for hundreds of banks, credit unions, and municipalities from around the county. These high-volume monthly statement runs require the highest level of precision, accuracy and reliability to ensure they meet their client service level agreements (SLAs) within a very tight timeframe. With one AcceleJet system already installed, IDS decided to add another AcceleJet to their print operation to increase capacity, improve productivity and ensure consistent color print quality.

"We installed our first AcceleJet system in late 2015 and it exceeded all of our expectations in terms of productivity, reliability and print quality," said Tony VanderKolk, director of print operations at IDS. "The AcceleJet has been the most flexible and dependable printer in our fleet. It is amazingly hands-off and only requires minimal maintenance. My experience with the AcceleJet has been eye-opening – better than I could have thought."

The AcceleJet is an innovative roll to cut-sheet printing solution that provides a simple, cost-effective path to 100% variable data color inkjet at a cost comparable to many monochrome options. It is ideal for mid-sized transactional mail operations with a monthly print volume of one to ten million impressions. The system combines high quality color output, integrated finishing and dynamic perforation. Customer communications are transformed into personalized pieces – creating greater impact with bills, statements, enrollment forms and offers.

"Pitney Bowes is delighted that IDS has decided to add another AcceleJet to their fleet," said Jason Dies, president, Pitney Bowes Document Messaging Technologies. "The printing industry is evolving and color is becoming a requirement for many mid-sized print operations and service providers. The AcceleJet provides outstanding print quality, unrivaled reliability and the output flexibility, including dynamic perforation, to handle a variety of jobs. With the AcceleJet, our clients are able to expand their service offerings and grow their business."

"The print quality is the best I have seen. And for select jobs and clients, we only use the AcceleJet to ensure it meets their highest standard," VanderKolk added. "The AcceleJet has changed the game for us in terms of our ability to consistently deliver high quality print output for our clients."

Pitney Bowes offers the industry's broadest range of inkjet format sizes, with a portfolio that includes the AcceleJet, IntelliJet 20 HD, IntelliJet 30, and IntelliJet 42 HD. The AcceleJet printing and finishing system will be featured at this year's Print 17 industry conference in Chicago, September 10-14. For more information, please visit:
