CRON-ECRM to Introduce Blackwood Digital-UV Plate at PRINT 17

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - At PRINT 17 at McCormick Center, Sept. 10-14 in Chicago, CRON-ECRM will debut the Blackwood Digital-UV plate. There will be live demonstrations of the new plate being imaged in the CRON-ECRM (Booth #1644) throughout the show. In addition, CRON-ECRM will be producing all the offset plates to be run in the RMGT 9 Series 8-up press that will be running live in the adjacent booth.

Blackwood Emerald-UV Low Chemistry Plate  
The CRON Blackwood Emerald-UV low chemistry plate is unique, designed to not only streamline the production process, but also reduce costs and support a higher level of environmental responsibility by minimizing the consumption of chemicals and water for UV exposed plates. With a simple ‘wash out’ bath, plates are press ready in seconds and exhibit perfect dot reproduction, from 1-98% for either stochastic screening (20 micron) or conventional screening up to 200 lpi. Run length is up to 50,000.

The CRON Blackwood Emerald-UV also benefits from eco-friendly platesetting, due to the non-ablative process and the use of a low-chemistry, non-toxic washout solution. This reduces the impact on the environment, as well as delivering significant financial savings on plate chemistry and controlled waste removal. The better contrast of the imaged plate enables the press operators to identify any pre-press errors which helps minimize waste in man hours, ink and paper. The pre-press wash-out also extends the life of fountain solution.

For UV ink printing, Blackwood offers UV double coating plate, HUV whose run length is over 50,000 and dot reproduction 1-98% at 350 lpi. For normal ink printing, HU-PXX offers the highest value in terms of price performance. Run length can go up to 100,000 and dot reproduction 1-98% at 350 lpi.

CTP for Offset Presses
CRON-ECRM will be running the CRON UVP4664G+X+ UV CTP solution, which is geared to commercial printers who have a half-size or a full 8-up press. This fully automated system will feature a Multi Cassette loader.  With CRON’s market-leading magnetic linear drive platform, integrated online punch and dynamic drum balance the registration accuracy is up to 0.01mm and the tonal range is 1-99% in either conventional or stochastic screening.

CRON 26H Bundle is ideally suited for smaller-format commercial printers who are looking to replace their aging polyester plate system. The CTP Model 26H (26”/670mm format) combines fully automated plate loading with precision imaging, punching, and transport, providing a low cost, easy-to-use, and compact unit which is easy to maintain. With a total footprint just 60% of the comparable units, this system o?ers high performance alongside improved convenience and cost e?iciency.

CTP for Flexo Printers
The CRON HDI-600S Flexo CTP will also be on display, the ideal imager for label printing. It provides a fault-free imaging experience, ensuring precision printing from all digital photopolymer plates, ablative films, and polyester-based letterpress plates.
