AMS Spectral UV – A Baldwin Technology Co. To Showcase LED-UV Curing Solutions For Flexography At LabelExpo Europe

Press release from the issuing company

RIVER FALLS, WI – AMS Spectral UV – A Baldwin Technology Company will showcase its entire range of LED-UV curing solutions for flexographic printing at the upcoming LabelExpo Europe exhibition, set for September 25-28 in Brussels, Belgium.

LED-UV curing systems provide an alternative to heat-based drying and conventional UV curing systems for stack, in-line and central impression flexographic processes, offering a more eco-friendly way to solidify inks and coatings that comes with a host of other benefits, like producing offset-quality printing.

“We’re finding that mid-and wide-web flexo printers especially are beginning to learn that their businesses can be instantly and positively changed by UV LED curing,” noted AMS Spectral UV president Steve Metcalf. “They are able to print faster, lower their carbon footprints, and produce an end product that is more aesthetically pleasing than something produced with traditional systems would be, thanks to the unmatchable quality of UV LED inks and coatings, which come in low-migration formulas, and the fact that LED-UV curing garners offset-like results.”

Metcalf added: “Because LED-UV curing is a low-temperature process, it allows flexographic printers to use thinner substrates than ever before, too – this helps please customers who are looking to save costs and lower their environmental footprints at the same time.”

AMS Spectral UV offers three main LED-UV curing technologies for flexographic printing: the Flexo XP Series; the Label XD Series; and the XO Series. All three technologies offer the benefits of LED-UV curing, while being tailored to particular flexographic processes.
