CGS Presents Seamless Control at PRINT 17 with Full Range of Color Management Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

This year’s PRINT 17 show (September 10-14) in Chicago promises a comprehensive approach to best-practices in color management from CGS Publishing Technologies International, LLC. Presenting its entire portfolio of systems, equipment, consumables and services, Booth 631 will showcase tools and all-in-one solutions for calibrating, stabilizing, analyzing, proofing and controlling color in commercial print, publishing and packaging production.

Taking center stage on the CGS booth is the latest-generation ORIS Lynx cloud-based color management solution, which was recently awarded Idealliance G7 System Certification. Requiring no color expertise of its operator, ORIS Lynx is CGS’s flagship system devised to help users achieve precise, repeatable color on any device by guiding them through a simple process to create custom ICC profiles. With G7 calibration assurance, users now benefit from a guaranteed industry-wide standard of excellence when using CGS color management technology.

Integrated with ORIS Lynx is ORIS Evaluate, a new product showing for the first time at PRINT 17. ORIS Evaluate also links directly and seamlessly with ORIS Certified // Web to provide a simplified process for full, cross-fleet color quality monitoring, trending and reporting, viewable from anywhere with an internet connection.

Another key highlight on Booth 631 will be the brand-new expanded capabilities of ORIS Flex Pack // Web Visualizer. With latest varnish and foil feature additions, the ORIS Flex Pack // Web Visualizer has been recently announced as a recipient of a prestigious InterTech™ Technology Award as well as a 2017 Must See ‘Em. This new version to be showcased at PRINT 17 adds enhanced varnish and emboss proofing capabilities as well as a new cold foil application for next-level visualization and prototyping of premium design treatments.

Together with ORIS CxF Toolbox for accurately communicating every facet of a brand color and iC3D packaging design software, ORIS Flex Pack // Web Visualizer is part of a combined flexible packaging solution from CGS. Demonstrations of the award-winning trio at PRINT 17 will aim to exhibit their ability to support effective color communication between all members of the supply chain from 3D digital mockup to proof to final product.

Product Highlights

Also featuring on Booth 631 at PRINT 17 are complementary CGS solutions for professional color management requirements including calibration and media specification:

  • ORIS Press Matcher // Web – for cross-fleet accuracy and repeatability, this web-based system allows for easy calibration and automatically maintains color balance and stability across multiple output devices and processes – offset and inkjet.
  • ORIS Color Tuner // Web – 2-in-1 integrated hardcopy and soft proofing for web-based communication, ensuring simple, user-friendly color management and monitoring both locally and remotely.
  • ORIS Certified // Web and ORIS Evaluate – for quality control of proofers, proofs, press sheets and color displays using specified industry standards – e.g. SWOP, Fogra, ISO, GRACoL - these solutions provide hard data on equipment, performance, trends and environmental factors to control against quality variations and discrepancies.
  • ORIS Professional Media – A comprehensive media selection for aligning proofs to today’s industry standards, including ORIS PearlPROOF™ Super V GRACoL for guaranteed quality and consistency.

Marcus Goerlitz, VP of Sales & Marketing with CGS USA, explains that the decision to exhibit its full range of solutions showcases the wide spectrum of skill-sets and roles that the show attracts to McCormick Place: “In today’s consolidated environment of print and its affiliated industries, we can expect everyone from designer, to brand manager, copy-shop owner, production manager and press operator visiting our booth. However, they always have one thing in common: they want to produce the kind of reliable, high-quality results that ensure their clients keep coming back for more,” says Goerlitz. “In the majority of cases, repeatable color is at the very heart of their requirements. On Booth 631, we have the solution to help any color professional achieve a standard of excellence that will guarantee a return.”
