KPG and RealTimeImage Advance Matchprint Virtual Proofing System

Press release from the issuing company

June 11, 2002 -- Norwalk, Connecticut, USA - Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) and RealTimeImage Inc., will continue a partnership to develop the Matchprint Virtual Proofing System, a hardware/software color proofing system designed to deliver accurate CMYK color to the monitor. The Matchprint Virtual Proofing System moved into beta testing in early second quarter 2002. The KPG/RealTimeImage relationship combines KPG’s industry-proven color proofing technologies, color profiling expertise and global leadership in color management with RealTimeImage's established expertise in full resolution, online color proofing workflows. "We are excited with the prospects our complementary technologies offer," said Barbara Cederberg, Corporate Vice President, Strategy and Development, KPG. "Jointly we satisfy virtual proofing requirements for text and graphic placement, and also provide accurate CMYK color to the monitor for consistency throughout the workflow." Cederberg says KPG understood the need for a strategic partner to deliver the advanced online proofing capabilities necessary to produce a color-accurate virtual proofing system. "We are extremely pleased that RealTimeImage agreed to be that partner, working with us in development of an exciting new product to meet market needs,” adds Cederberg. Designed to meet the various needs of graphic arts, corporate, and creative design professionals, the Kodak Polychrome Graphics Matchprint Virtual Proofing System enables high-end color critical customers to accurately simulate Matchprint proofs in an Application Service Provider (ASP) model hosted by RealTimeImage. Use of the System results in significant time-savings in advertising and print production, and can be customized to a client's specific workflow. "Our new partnership with KPG will result in not only an especially innovative solution, it will also have a great and positive impact on legitimizing online proofing with the market at large," said Zvi Eintracht, President and CEO of RealTimeImage. "Collaborating in real time means getting changes made and approved quickly, so design teams can progress onto their next jobs. It's a win for productivity and a win for the client who saves time and money."
