Company to host webinar and preview new business process management software with customers over the next few months.
Westford, MA - Ironsides Technology is proud to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its Ironsides APT™ (automated production tracking) software. Ironsides APT allows the printing, mailing, fulfillment, and packaging industries to monitor each individual print job across the production workflow. To commemorate the anniversary, the company will host a webinar with one of their largest European users to discuss how print and mail operations can maintain document integrity, improve productivity and increase profitability. Webinar attendees will learn how complex, time sensitive and demanding SLA compliance documents are produced efficiently, with real-time visibility and control.
A decade ago transactional printing expert, Bill Riley joined forces with software engineer, Sean Zhang to form Ironsides Technology with the goal of delivering a robust, open and agnostic tracking software system that would work across any and all print production: from bindery to insertion through the finished production process.
Over the past 10 years, Ironsides has seen the transactional, commercial, fulfillment and direct mail print markets evolve from large print runs to small quantity, high-frequency, personalized production print runs with much tighter SLAs. Add to this an increase in document security and compliance requirements and today’s print jobs are more complicated and harder to track requiring advanced software that can monitor individual jobs at a piece level, at any point in the production process. Ironsides APT is a proven technology that can help printers meet strict regulatory requirements while providing a central dashboard with real-time production data to ensure each job meets demanding customer SLAs and is produced efficiently and on time.
“Inkjet technology has been a game-changing, disruptive technology for the printing industry altering the way people think about printed communications,” says Bill Riley, President of Ironsides Technology. “While this technology brings new growth opportunities, printers continuously tell us how difficult it is to track and reconcile the huge numbers of smaller jobs driven by new applications. Ironsides APT provides the visibility required to track each job in order to improve operational productivity. As printers make strategic technology investments over the next few years, Ironsides Technology is well positioned to become the software of choice to help printers optimize productivity, maintain document integrity and compliance to grow their profitability.”
Enhancing Ironsides APT technology to meet new customer challenges
Building on the success of Ironsides APT, Ironsides Technology is developing new software enhancements that will help customers better analyze, plan and schedule jobs using the data collected with Ironsides APT. Ironsides will begin previewing new business process management functionality with select customers over the next few months.
“Today’s printers are running hundreds or even thousands of jobs each week and it is physically impossible to manually track the true cost of each item,” continues Riley. “While estimation systems help, they are just that – estimations. New versions of Ironsides APT software will help monetize and add value to the data captured from Ironsides APT to understand actual business costs. This will help limit the risks printers incur when investing in new inkjet systems and print applications.”
