Lewis Color Goes High Tech with Midnight MIS Software from Virtual Systems

Press release from the issuing company

Based in Statesboro GA, Lewis Color was founded as a commercial printer in 1961 and has since become a leading provider of specialized print services both regionally and nationally. “We’ve grown our printing beyond the typical services model to create highly customized products and solutions for our customers, including student school books, car dealer branded products, and specialized loyalty programs”, says Tommy Lewis, president of Lewis Color. “We have a corporate culture of doing things in innovative ways, and leveraging the latest technology is an important part of that. After reviewing a number of MIS systems, we chose to replace our legacy system with Midnight software because of its robust API which enables us to integrate our online programs into it”.

For its customers, Lewis Color anticipates quicker turns on orders, new online proofing capabilities, integrated storefront options, and faster customer service. Furthermore, customers will directly benefit from the broader range of work planning, scheduling and tracking that Midnight provides.

“Lewis color is doing very cool things with their business, particularly with creating online workflows for their vertical market print products which use Midnight’s API to create jobs electronically. They go beyond the traditional print approach and provide a greater value to the consumer in each of their verticals,” mentioned Chris Huber, President and founder of Virtual Systems. “I’m always impressed when I see printers who find ways to ‘productize’ their service offering”.
