AF&PA Urges Senate to Approve Regulatory Accountability Act Following Committee Passage of the Legislation

Press release from the issuing company

WASHINGTON – American Forest & Paper Association President and CEO Donna Harman underscored the need for regulatory reform following U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee passage of the Regulatory Accountability Act (S. 951). She issued the following statement which urges the Senate to quickly pass the legislation.

“America deserves a regulatory system that protects public interests with necessary protections, while also promoting innovation, economic growth, job creation and public confidence in government. The Regulatory Accountability Act will help achieve these goals, and we urge the Senate to move quickly and pass the billapproved by the Committee. A more transparent and accountable regulatory process, including a judicially-enforceable cost benefit test and the opportunity for public comment period on costly, complex proposals will serve our nation well for generations to come.”
