R.R. Donnelley Removes Arthur Andersen, Selects Deloitte & Touche

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, April 29 -- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company today announced that its board of directors appointed Deloitte & Touche LLP as the company's independent auditors for 2002, replacing Arthur Andersen LLP. The change is effective upon completion by Andersen of its review of the company's financial statements for the first quarter. The company's board of directors appoints the auditors each year. During this year's evaluation process, both management and the board concluded that selecting a new audit firm at this time would be in the best interests of shareholders. "The decision was difficult, since Andersen has provided us with professional and high quality audit services for over 30 years," said William L. Davis, R.R. Donnelley's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "I look forward to a similar relationship with Deloitte & Touche."
